Five Outlook Shortcuts You Should Know - marcottefrientor

Outlook: Love it or hate information technology, there's room for advance.

Personally, I tend to vista Microsoft's information manager as bloated, confusing, and frequently annoying, which is why I'm always connected the lookout for ways to make information technology better.

And I've found several such ways. Without further goodbye, here are five clock-savers all Prospect user should know.

1. Automatically spell-stoppage all e-mail.

Worn-out of track a manual spell-check before sending an electronic mail? In Outlook 2010, tick File, Options, Mail, and then tick the boxwood marked Always check spelling before sending. In Outlook 2007, click Tools, Options, then the Spelling tab, and then that same box.

When you're done, pawl OK. Now Outlook will automatically do a char-check on each outbound message.

2. Deliver keystrokes with killer keyboard shortcuts.

Alt-S Why reach for the mouse every clock time you want to base an e-mail? This handy crosscut sends your current message on its style.

Alt-F Forward the current e-mail.

Alt-R Answer to the current e-mail.

3. Turn an e-chain mail into an appointment

Your boss just e-mailed you the go out, time, and docket for the upcoming sales meeting. Wouldn't it be skillful if you could quick impart all that info to your Outlook designation calendar? You can: Just drag the electronic mail from your Inbox to Outlook's Calendar icon (usually located in the lower-left corner of the screen).

That action creates a late appointment with the trunk of the electronic mail in the notes department. Set the time and date PR (Outlook can't automatically overcharge this info out of an e-mail, unluckily), tweak the subject line if necessary, and presto: You'Ra done.

4. Turn an e-mail contact into an Mentality contact

So you just got an e-mail service from a new lease in your section. Instead of switching o'er to your touch list, creating a new record, and manually entering (or copying and pasting) all the info, present's a shortcut:

In the e-mail message proper, right-click the sender's appoint, and so prefer Add to Outlook Contacts. Fast: You'll get a new contact window with the name and email Fields already realized. Now barely paste in the phone come(s) and you're done.

5. Take a range of days to display in the calendar

Want to see some days' worth of appointments in the same view? In the date picker (that small calendar in the upper-left corner of the screen), just click and drag the days you wishing shown.
